Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has assured the people of the state  that his administration will embark on programmes that will ensure sustainable development through its SMART agenda of prosperity for all despite the present economic predicament of the nation.

The governor gave the assurance Sunday  during a thanksgiving service held in honour of the Deputy Governor, Barr Kingsley Otuaro at Believers Love World popularly called Christ Embassy in Warri.

Okowa said in spite of the drop in oil prices and the state debt profile, his administration was poised to deliver on all the promises made to the people during the campaigns.

He called  for the contribution  of all public officials and the general public in bringing the needed  transformation to the state

While calling on youths, traditional rulers and community leaders to re-dedicate themselves to God for a total turn around in their lives and the society, Okowa urged those who engage in activities that hinder development in their areas to desist, emphasising that change of attitude would be to the benefit of all citizens of the state.

The governor said he was glad to have Otuaro as his Deputy, pledging their willingness to do the right things at all times. He appealed to the people of Delta State to correct them when the need arises.

Otuaro in company of his wife, Engr Ebierin Otuaro, said his emergence as deputy governor was an act of God and promised to remain a faithful child of God in all his actions.

He said the present economic predicament cannot hamper the prosperity for all Deltans agenda of the present administration.

Otuaro thanked Deltans for believing in him and Senator Okowa, and prayed God to crown all their development plans with resounding success.

In a sermon, the Zonal Pastor, Christ Embassy, Warri Zone, Pastor Soji Dara, noted that appreciation through thanksgiving was a way to attract more blessings and promotions from God.

Highpoint of the service was a thanksgiving session and special prayers for the family of the deputy governor and the state government.
