Unconfirmed reports have put the figure at over 30, but at the time of filing this report, rescue operations were still on-going.
The first explosion occurred at the Dadinkowa Motor Park and while it sent waves of confusion around the vicinity, the second explosion occurred at Dukku Motor Park, about almost two hours later.
Police Public Relations Officer for the state, Fwaje Atajiri, confirmed the blasts and said many people died.
He however said he could not give casualty figure at the time of this report.
He added that the area has been cordoned off and the Police, Red Cross and other emergency workers are on top of the situation.
The blast was also confirmed by the information officer in charge of the Gombe office of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Umar Madigawa.
Witnesses said the second explosion was the one that claimed the most casualties because it was square in the midst of people gathered at the motor park.
The witnesses explained that the bombs were concealed in two different bags and they went off simultaneously.
